Whether only possession is a valid ground to oppose partition proceedings?

Mere possession of the land and adverse effect upon the rights of petitioner is not a valid ground for opposing partition. We enquired from the learned counsel why partition is being objected to and he stated that the petitioners are in possession of land and their rights will be adversely effected. This is not a valid ground to oppose partition.
